How to pack so it arrives as you sent it
- 1.
Tape the bottom first
Fully tape the bottom and sides with LVM tape before you put anything in. That four-layer bottom only works if the flaps stay shut.
- 2.
Stay near the advised weight
Each size has a suggested maximum. Overweight boxes fail in a four-high stack.
- 3.
Keep the box square
If the sides bulge, the carton is weaker. We will tell you at pick-up if we cannot load it this sailing.
- 4.
Fill the shipping form as you pack
List what is inside. Do not write brand names that advertise value on the outside.
- 5.
Seal liquids
Bottles and sauces leak. Tape the caps and bag them.
- 6.
Leave no empty holes
Boxes are stacked four high. Empty space at the top makes the carton collapse.
- 7.
Only LVM tape on the outside
Duct tape peels on the warehouse floor. Our tape is included for a reason.
- 8.
Finish the bill of lading
Fill it in completely. Leave the Proof of Delivery box empty — that is for the receiver.
- 9.
Stick labels on the two long sides
Never on the top or bottom. The labels must match the form.
- 10.
Leave the box where the driver can take it
Ground floor, or the elevator floor. Drivers cannot carry a 60 kg box up stairs on a tight route.
